A New Year


We are hours into a new year and I can not be more excited! To me, a new year is cleansing and a change to tale a breath of fresh air. I use the past year to remember and reflect so that I can do better in the new one.


A lot of folks use resolutions to help them get to where they want to be. I don’t. Instead, I make goals daily, weekly and monthly. For instance, my goal today is to relax and truly enjoy my pour over coffee today. Too often I rush through it and my day becomes hectic and frenzied like some shaky snowball effect. So today, I am enjoying the start to my day and taking the time to do so.

I wonder how many people will stick to their resolutions. Facts and reports say most will fizzle out by the end of the month. I think a lot of people dream big (nothing wrong with that) but when it comes to execution it can be daunting. So my advice to you, dear reader, make a smaller resolution that is easier to accomplish and manage. It can be something simple - such as, ordering one donut instead of two, that way you’ll feel better about reaching that goal and feel better about yourself as well.
